The app is fast and clean. Each menu flows very well. It's easy to find the content you want and download it. What puts it far above Spotify is that having bad or no internet connection does not hamper your ability to get to downloaded content. There is a cue that you can put episodes into separate from your downloads. Your personal library is not cluttered and gives you access to the most important things you commonly do right up front.

I never thought I'd be a podcast type of person but it turns out I am so much more productive when I have one playing while I work. I'm too ADHD for long audio books but I love listening to people talk about topics I'm interested in. I learn so much. I haven't experienced any problems or bugs or anything. It plays even when you turn off the screen. I like that. I think you can even adjust the volume without the screen on. I can navigate through menus and episodes easily. Its a good app.

So far it's an amazing app! I enjoy the podcast I am able to access, but it is a bit hard to figure out how to get full episodes on the app without going through another website or have to find it in another app. I do wish they had a sort of widget so you can control the podcast app such as pausing, skip to the next or go back, as well as accessing it to see your queue. That would be nice to have and it's why I rated it 4 stars.

This is my go-to podcast app; however, it is has a lot of issues as elsewhere noted. One of my main complaints is that when I'm actively playing a podcast on my Pixel 6 pro, Android does not present player controls. They don't show up on the lock screen or the quick settings menu as other media apps do. It used to work, but has recently been broken.

Put a repeat track option on your damn app! Every other audio app I had, had the option whether or not to repeat a track, playlist, etc. and whether single loop or infinity! Why the hell you don't is unfathomable! I want to be able to bring up the track or whatever playing, see the little icon, tap little icon and choose how I want it to be repeated! Also, no one wants to have to go through other apps in order to control the settings on another app! We want our control of the one via that one!

Newly published episodes of podcasts sometimes take a day or three to appear in my feed. It's frustrating to see a new episode suddenly show up, but it's listed as being two days old. Also, I get notifications for new episodes of certain podcasts, but when I tap the notification, the episode is gone, and it won't reappear for at least a few hours. On top of all that, batches of old played episodes randomly reappear in my feed, as if unplayed. (No update. Same issues almost three months later.)

They are definitely giving up on this app, in classic Google fashion. I used to like it! Taking away the ability to tune recommendations and block shows is a huge step backwards. They used to add features, now they get removed. In a few months they'll announce a replacement and force everyone to migrate, then the cycle will repeat in 2–4 years. That's Google.

I was incredibly happy with this app for a long time but not any more... Starting around June 16, I can't listen to or download random episodes of different podcasts. Some will play for a minute and then just stop with an error... There's no point in a podcast app that can't reliably play podcasts, so I have to search for a replacement app. I'm the meantime, downgrading to an old version fixes things.

Used to work fine. I like to listen to podcasts while I drive, and I've successfully listened to 16 hours of podcasts uninterrupted in the past, but lately the app will not play for more than 15 minutes before crashing and cutting the audio unless the app is left open on my screen which isn't exactly feasible while I'm behind the wheel. Please fix this.

Unless there is a new blanket policy I am missing, I am frustrated there is no longer an option to keep downloaded episodes indefinitely. When I am traveling with poor connection speeds, I like relistening to podcasts, and more than once I've had to redownload all episodes. It also crashes on a semi-regular basis, sometimes not opening for an extended period of time. It is a solid player otherwise. And I wouldn't be so harsh if it wasn't an app created by Google...a company with resources.
