Google has tried to make this impossible to use without buying it first. First, the only homepage your can have without buying is Google. You can add bookmarks, so I just added duckduckgo and searx and open them from there. The private browsing is very private! If you have it on, it will delete the page you're on if you leave the page you're on even for a second. It takes some time getting accustomed to it, but I really like it now. Update: After a year, still the best.
honestly, this app is good enough for what it's used for. And when it ask you if you want to upgrade, you can still choose no and it'll just go back to the flash. Also it has a setting for a arrow like the mouse of a computer, wich is very unique, and helpful. 4 stars, very good job.
I used to love this browser, but now, whenever I try to hit the lightning bolt to turn on flash mode, it tells me to upgrade to premium to remove ads. Don't know why it's doing this now because it worked fine yesterday. I don't want to pay an annual fee just to get rid of ads (I'm sure there's more than that, but I'm fine with the free version) hopefully this gets resolved because I don't want to pay to use the flash mode.
The free version worked ok. Had to purchase the latest version, now it doesn't work at all when using the flash player. Photon just closes down. I changed all the settings but nothing worked. Reduced bandwidth, modified mode, port, browser engine. Cleared cache. Have 2 different Android phone and the same thing happens. One phone is running Android 9, the other 6.1.
I installed this once some years back, and it didn't handle flash very well. I wanted to see if anything improved since then but some reviews noted that the flash feature is locked behind a paywall... I checked thinking "Oh great, they'll ask for $3 to have the same performance, right?" TRY $20!!! This is an outright scam and should be taken off the store.
Not recommended. Flash "worked", but was almost completely useless eLearning I needed it for. Could not resize the flash frame, so could only see part of the video. Did not bother testing click functionality. The 404 error seems to be caused by the browser requesting https by default even on non secure sites, changing it to http seemed to work. Going to change my password just in case this is a thief app, as others have reported. Major lag, likely running thru / recorded by a server somewhere.
was working fine 4 free wi adds. Now it seemingly has removed adds n wants me 2 pay 2 use for a yearly subscription. I never choose or wanted a yearly sub. It WAS working perfectly fine. Trying to work out why it's no longer working and NOW wants me to pay sub when I try to activate flash player. This WAS a good alternative for tablet & android devices wanting/needing to run flash etc but it's not working anymore. EDIT: I uninstalled, not waiting for a fix that's probably never coming.
used to be good....will NOT show ads so I can use free..chromebook, desktop mode. This browser used to be good, now it will NOT work unless you buy. It clearly states that you can use free with ads. Well....I click on the lightning and all I get is a buy to upgrade box and I never see ads and therefore never get to use Flash. Im on a Chromebook, lastest update, etc..... It. Does NOT. work.
False advertising! In the description it says "when you need Flash support, you just need to click the lightning bolt button to activate the support on your tablets or phones", however that is not true. It will tunnel your web browsing through their servers possibly tracking who-knows-what.
my user experience with this app was pretty bad. I want to use it for monitoring my security cameras which use flash. was difficult to get it to even work and when I did I couldn't use the touch screen to control menus or do anything at all. not well tested on to limited to evaluate it unless I take a chance and purchase it. but too many other bad reviews to risk it, so am uninstalling it. app developers need to do a lot more testing and use case analysis.
