this is a pretty good free to use player that can use flac files and other odd types of music files in general. I think the layout could be better(it feels cluttered), but for a free player with no advertisements, I think it's a good app they made. if you come from the pc music player, it doesnt have all the features(at least from what I'm aware of) like audio conversion, song splitting and attaching song info(like titles naming).

Perfect, just like the version on windows, but with what I'd add to be a better interface. Audio sounds absolutely amazing compared to VLC and YouTube Music. It even has support for custom gain control, so it can make your headphones or speakers even louder! (Just remember that pushing it can hurt your hardware and cause audio distortion). There are some crashes that can occur while changing settings, and I don't recommend turning on openSL decoding cause it causes some issues, but it's perfect.

The only free Android music app I found that has actual, TRUE gapless playback with no hiccups. It's astounding how difficult it apparently is for app developers to get that right. The overall sound quality on this seems excellent too. No playback issues at all so far. This app has issues in terms of some features (like being able to set album art) being missing, but I'm giving it 5 stars for the gapless playback alone to make it easier for anyone who was desperately searching like I was.

foobar2000 is a minimal-but-robust free media player. It is packed with nice power user features, but may be somewhat overwhelming for a user looking for a simple and clean experience. I would give it 5 stars, but some features that are important to me are unintuitive compared to the desktop version (ex: switching to "repeat one track" mode). It still plays all my weird file formats and lets me organize my library by folders so I use it exclusively.

Almost perfect. My favorite, without any real app I have found that comes close. There is a problem I am having with getting constant notifications, saying the last song that was played when I stopped. It gets kind of annoying. However, if I turn off notifications, it disables a useful function of being able to control play pause , next or previous track in the lock screen. I would love to see more options to disable specific notifications, so I now longer have my phone vibrate every 10 minutes

The app itself is great, just a few things that's prevent me from giving this a 5. The shuffle button is preordered, what I mean if I choose the same song in a playlist with shuffle on, no matter what it always play the same order of songs, only time it changes is when you add a new song to the playlist. My final issue is that I cant rename the playlists I created. IDK if it's my phone or the app but I check ever setting but no luck. Other then those it's great, I can listen to my .FLAC's

I absolutely love foobar2000, it has a stripped down interface that is extremely quick, and has all sorts of advanced tools and metadata options that music fanatics like me love! To be honest, the only thing that would make this app completely perfect is if it had an option to add song(s)/album(s) to what is currently playing instead of just saved playlists. Other than that I have never had any problems, totally would recommend as a quick and robust music player!

While the windows FB2K has been an indispensable tool for me for decades, the android version still leaves much to be desired. The UI is a little counterintuitive. There's no "current playlist" or playback queue that you can add tracks or albums to on the fly. You always have to create a named, saved playlist, which I find annoying. Also, still no Chromecast or Android Auto support.

Sort of disappointing. Love the EQ, and the dark theme. I was initially very impressed and excited. Then I tried playing some music. Song after song started giving me a notification saying 'Format Not Supported' or similar. That's strange, because the stock player and VLC have no issue playing them at all. A large portion of my music will not play on this app, and will play just fine on other apps. Then the app crashed, so that sealed the deal. Two stars, sadly- one for no ads, and one for a good concept.

I installed this because I use foobar2000 on Windows and thought this would be good. However, I have to say that the UI is very unintuitive and just clunky in general. I could not use this at all by any practical means. In particular, creating, modifying, and adding songs to playlists was what hung me up. The only reason this is not 1 star is because I like the Windows version, and I believe in the product. However, the android app will definitely need some updates before I can endorse it.
